The Fire and Cooking Unit Bundle includes both the Fire and Cooking Teacher Manual and the Fire and Cooking Adventure Journal (both as digital PDF downloads) for the Outdoor Survival: Applied Wilderness Skills curriculum. Designed for middle school and early high school students, this hands-on outdoor unit teaches students how humans use fire as a tool for warmth, cooking, signaling, water purification, and survival in challenging environments.

Through structured outdoor activities and performance-based challenges, students learn fire safety, combustion principles, fuel selection, campfire structures, ignition methods, and outdoor cooking techniques. Students apply concepts from chemistry, heat transfer, environmental science, engineering design, and problem solving while working collaboratively in outdoor settings.

The Teacher Manual provides full instructional guidance, lesson plans, safety considerations, assessments, and activity organization, while the Adventure Journal gives students a structured workbook for notes, diagrams, reflections, investigations, and performance-based learning tasks connected to each lesson.
